TORONTO, April 27 /CNW/ - Nuinsco Resources Limited (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian E. Robertson as President. Mr. Robertson has a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. He brings to the Company over 30 years of executive and operating experience in mining and mines management. Mr. Robertson was previously Vice President of Mining for the Company. Prior to joining the Company, he was Area Manger at Placer Dome South Africa's 7,000 tonne-per-day (tpd) South Deep Mine. Mr. Robertson held various positions at Placer Dome over a 20-year period, including General Superintendent at the Dome mine and Mine Manager at the Equity Silver mine. He served as General Manger at North American Palladium's Lac Des Iles mine as well as Royal Oak's 55,000 tpd Kemess open pit mine and Hope Brook underground mine. He played a leading role in mine construction and development at South Deep mine, Lac des Iles mine, Kemess mine, and Equity Silver underground project. Mr. Robertson is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Mr. Holmes says, "Mr. Robertson has played a key role in the transition of the company and was a strong advocate of the Minago project as well as the Company's entry into uranium exploration in Saskatchewan. The Company will benefit from his extensive experience in mine development as well as open pit and underground operations. The Company believes Mr. Robertson's operating and mine development experience will be instrumental in the Company's growth plant from an exploration company to an operating company". Mr. Robertson has received numerous awards, among them the CIM Metal Mining Division Award for progressive mine management practice, The Newfoundland Association of Professional Engineer's Environmental Award, the Dupont / Conoco Environmental Leadership Award and the British Colombia Department of Mines Environmental Award. Mr. Warren Homes, currently President and CEO, will continue as CEO and a Director of the Company.
