Medgen, Inc. (OTCPink: MDIN) today announced that it has been approved by, and has started distribution through Amazon.ca, the Canadian branch of the U.S. based retailer Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), with plans to expand dramatically over the next few quarters.
With several domestic retailers in the process of finalizing approvals for distribution in the U.S., the company has now started distributing internationally so that as U.S. based retail sales begin to roll in, time can be spent with the international retailers solidifying those relationships.
The second quarter of 2015 marked a major success for Amazon.com as they posted approximately $23.2 billion in revenue, inflating their market capitalization to around $272 billion, surpassing the retail giant Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) who has a market capitalization of around $202 billion, and, Amazon.com does not appear to be slowing down. “We’ve had an excellent relationship with Amazon.com domestically, and with their seemingly unparalleled market dominance we’re extremely excited to expand our relationship internationally starting with Canada” Say Matthew Briggs, CEO.
This expansion is just the start of the company’s international relationship with Amazon.com, as the company has ambitions to be distributed throughout all of Amazon’s eleven (and growing) international marketplaces. Canada will be the first region outside the U.S. where products will be actively sold, and then potentially Mexico, South America and Europe.
