[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nPITTSBURGH, July 20 /CNW/ - NOVA Chemicals Corporation\n(NYSE:NCX)(TSX:NCX) and Dietrich Metal Framing, a Worthington Industries\ncompany (NYSE:WOR), today announced they have formed a 50:50 joint venture\nthat will develop and manufacture durable, energy-saving composite\nconstruction products and systems.\nThe joint venture combines Dietrich's expertise in light-gauge steel\nframing with NOVA Chemicals' expandable polystyrene (EPS) technology to\nproduce strong, efficient building systems for residential and light\ncommercial use.\n\"We are very pleased to partner with Dietrich, the industry leader in\nmetal framing, to introduce construction products that meet the growing demand\nfor durable, energy-saving structures that are also cost-effective to build,\"\nsaid Tony Torres, Vice President of NOVA Chemicals' Building and Construction\nbusiness.\nThe joint venture's building products will provide many advantages to\nbuilding owners and homeowners over traditional wood construction including\nlower heating and cooling costs, improved strength and durability under\nadverse weather conditions and resistance to termites and mold. The joint\nventure's panelized composite building systems also are expected to reduce\nlabor costs and time-to-completion over \"stick-built\" construction.\n\"By combining the extensive experience of NOVA Chemicals and Dietrich in\nmanufacturing and construction, we can offer innovative construction products\nthat feature the design advantages and strength of steel as well as the\nthermal and sound insulation of EPS,\" said Ed Ponko, President of Dietrich\nMetal Framing.\nThe new joint venture is expected to be fully operational by January 2007\nand will have offices in Pittsburgh.
