[{"type":"text","content":"\nFreedman succeeds Katie Nixon, who now leads the high-growth Northeast Region\n\n CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--\nNorthern Trust has appointed Eric Freedman as Chief Investment Officer for the Wealth Management business.\n\nFreedman will guide the private client investment practice—including more than 200 portfolio managers nationally—and the continued evolution of the firm’s investment platform and offerings. Freedman will report to Wealth Management President Jason Tyler, effective December 2.\n\nFreedman succeeds Katie Nixon, who served with distinction as Chief Investment Officer since 2012. During Nixon’s tenure, she helped shape Northern Trust’s investment philosophy, expanded its multi-asset capabilities, and strengthened the firm’s standing as a trusted partner to private clients. Nixon now assumes leadership of the Northeast Region—one of Northern Trust’s strategically important and growth-intensive markets with a sophisticated and diverse client base. He most recently served as U.S. Bank's Chief Investment Officer and oversaw the firm's Asset Management Group. His career includes additional senior roles at asset managers and advisory firms including Goldman Sachs.\n\nFreedman holds a BA from Colgate University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
