("the\n Company") (TSX: NOM, BVL: NOM) today announced the appointment of Mr.\n Louis Gignac to the Company's board of directors. Mr. Gignac is the\n President of G Mining Services Inc., a private consultancy, and\n previously served as the President and CEO of Cambior Inc. from its\n creation in 1986 until its acquisition by Iamgold Corporation in\n November 2006 and as Chairman of Andean Resources until its recent\n acquisition by Goldcorp.\n\n\nMr. Gignac is Chairman of the Board for Gaz Metropolitan Inc. and St.\n Andrews Goldfields, and director of Domtar Corp. and Franco-Nevada\n Corporation. He held previous management positions with Falconbridge,\n Exxon Minerals and also served as a professor of mining engineering at\n Laval University. Mr. Gignac holds a Doctor of engineering from the\n University of Missouri-Rolla, a Masters in mineral engineering from the\n University of Minnesota and a degree in mining engineering from Laval\n University.\n\n\nNorsemont's Chairman, Mr. George Bell, said: "We welcome Louis Gignac to\n Norsemont's board.
