("the\nCompany") (TSX: NOM, BTL: NOM) is pleased to announce the appointment of\nMr. Augusto Baertl to the Company's Board of Directors.\n\n\nMr. Baertl is a Peruvian mining engineer who has held a number of senior\npositions with Peruvian and international mining companies. He served as Mine\nManager, President and CEO of Compania Minera Milpo, one of Peru's largest\nmining companies, from 1967 to 1996. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Baertl served as\nPresident and Executive Chairman of Compania Minera Antamina and oversaw the\nexploration, feasibility studies and development of the project. He is a\nmember of the American Institute of Mining Metallurgical and Petroleum\nEngineers (AIME), the Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas del Perú and the\nColegio de Ingenieros del Peru-Capitulo de Minas.\n\n\nMr. Baertl graduated from Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria in 1965 and\nalso participated in the Senior Management Program at Harvard Business School\nand in the CEO Management Program at Northwestern University.\n\n\nNorsemont's Chairman, Mr. George Bell, said: "We welcome Augusto Baertl\nto our board of directors.
