VANCOUVER, June 20 /CNW/ - Norsemont Mining Inc. (TSX-V: NOM) is moving aggressively to advance the Constancia project located in Peru, a joint venture with Rio Tinto (NYSE: RTP). The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Thomas Henricksen, P. Geo. as Chief Geologist and Project Manager of its flagship Constancia Copper-Gold-Molybdenum Project. Mr. Henricksen (Ph.D., B.Sc.) brings more than 30 years of experience as a Senior Geologist and Exploration Manager to the Norsemont team. He has worked for Rio Tinto, Noranda Exploration and various junior mining companies in South America and has significant experience in copper porphyry deposits. Mr. Henricksen's recent background includes direction of a major exploration program to drill-test a porphyry copper-molybdenum project in Chile. In the past, he has worked extensively for Kennecott Exploration and US Borax managing extensive drilling and exploration programs in the Pacific North- West. Mr. Henricksen is a qualified person as defined under National Instrument 43-101. He has a Ph.D. in Economic Geology and a B.Sc. in Geology. He currently resides in Cuzco, Peru and has had the opportunity to visit and evaluate the Constancia Project personally. Also, Norsemont has granted Mr. Henricksen 60,000 incentive stock options as well as 40,000 to employees and consultants, exercisable at 80 cents per share.
