[{"type":"text","content":"Nexus Gold Options the Fofora Gold Project, Hounde Greenstone Belt, Burkina Faso\n \n \n (TheNewswire)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Vancouver, Canada –\n \n \n TheNewswire -\n \n \n June 7, 2023 – Nexus Gold\nCorp.\n \n \n (“\n \n \n Nexus Gold\n \n \n ” or the “\n \n \n Company\n \n \n ”)\n(TSXV:NXS\n \n \n )\n \n \n ,\n \n \n (\n \n \n OTC:NXXGF\n \n \n )\n \n \n ,\n \n \n (\n \n \n FSE:N6E) is pleased to announce\n \n \n it has\nsigned an option agreement to acquire a 90% interest in the 6,200-ha\n(62km²) Fofora Gold Project exploration permit located 450km to the\nsouthwest of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, West Africa.  The\nCompany\n \n can earn up to a 90% interest in the property by making\na combination of cash USD $300,000 and 500,000 share payments over 54\nmonths.\n \n \n \n The Fofora permit is located on the eastern side of the\nHounde greenstone belt in the Kampti department; in the province of\nPoni, near the border with Cote D’Ivoire.\n \n \n The\nHounde Greenstone Belt is host to several large-scale operating gold\nmines, including Endeavour’s Mana and Hounde Mines, Futurna\nSilver’s Yaramoko Mine as well as multiple other producing mines and\nlarge-scale discoveries.\n \n \n \n The property has been explored in the past by Volta Resources and\nlater by Roxgold and Fortuna Silver.  Previous work on the property\nhas identified a 2-kilometer gold in soil geochemical trend straddling\nthe geological contact between andesitic and basaltic rocks.  This\ncontact zone correlates well with the regional magnetic data.  Silt\nsamples collected from adjacent drainages have returned reported\nvalues of 327 & 127 ppb gold.  A second target area is situated\n7000 meters south of the first trend.  This is an area of active\nartisanal mining.  A rock sample collected here by the company in\nFebruary returned a value 9820 ppb (9.8 g/t) gold.  See Figure 2\nbelow.\n \n \n \n “With the addition of Fofora we now have three top\ntier gold exploration projects in our West African portfolio,” said\nCEO, Milad Zareian.  “We are eager to get back to work in Burkina\nand look forward to drilling...
