[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nVANCOUVER, Dec. 15 /CNW/ - CounterPath Corporation (OTCBB: CPAH; TSX-V:\nCCV), a leading provider of desktop and mobile VoIP software products and\nsolutions, today announced financial and operating results for the second\nquarter ended October 31, 2008.\n\n\nFinancial and operating highlights for the quarter include:\n\n- Record quarterly revenues of $3.0 million for the quarter ended October\n 31, 2008 compared to $2.4 million for the quarter ended October 31,\n 2007 and $2.6 million for the previous quarter ended July 31, 2008, an\n increase of 23% and 15%, respectively.\n\n- An anticipated reduction in costs and operating expenses of over\n $5 million per year.\n\n- Increased access to the capital markets with the commencement of\n trading of CounterPath common shares on the TSX Venture Exchange on\n August 25, 2008 under the symbol CCV.\n\n- Subsequent to the quarter end, the commercial launch of a\n functionally-rich enterprise mobile client and gateway by Nortel\n Networks. The enterprise mobility gateway extends the functionality of\n an enterprise's PBX (telephone system) out to a mobile handset,\n including those offered by RIM (Blackberry(TM)), Nokia and handsets\n running Windows Mobile.\n\n\n"Despite a difficult and uncertain economic environment, we have\nsignificantly reduced our operating costs while achieving record revenues,\nbringing the company closer to our objective of profitability," stated Donovan\nJones, President and CEO CounterPath Corporation.
