Luxell's Aktelux wins a place on Europe's A400M aircraft

TORONTO, July 19 /CNW/ - Aktelux Corp. (a wholly owned subsidiary of
Luxell Technologies Inc., TSE:LUX) announced today that it has received a
Letter of Intent (LoI) from Rheinmetall Defence Electronics (RDE) of Bremen,
Germany, for the development and production of Multi-Function Displays (MFD)
to be used in RDE's Loadmaster Control System (LMS) for the Airbus A400M.
The A400M is the next generation military airlifter, designed to replace
existing C-130 Hercules and similar aircraft types, and to offer greatly
extended range and payload capabilities. Airbus Military is developing the
A400M in response to a 7-nation (Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain,
Turkey, and United Kingdom) requirement, with an initial production build of
180 aircraft. The LoI between RDE and Aktelux authorizes the development of
the MFD, together with prototypes and production options, up to a total of 300
units. Fully exercised, this contract has a value of EUR 2.20M, or
approximately CAD $3.23M.
Said Louis Joubert, Aktelux's President, "We are delighted to add RDE,
who is one of the world's leading names in defence electronics, to our
strategic client list, particularly in conjunction with a program as
prestigious as the A400M. The MFD will leverage off the technology base that
we have developed from other recent programs, thus minimizing technical risk,
and ensuring that we provide RDE a best value product, on schedule, on budget,
and of outstanding technical performance."
