[{"type":"text","content":"Neurothera Labs Granted Patent by Israeli Patent Office for its Proprietary Opioid-Based Patent Family to Enhance Pain Relief and Reduce Side Effects\n(TheNewswire)\n\n\n \n\n\nDecember 30, 2025 – TheNewswire\n- Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada -\nNeurothera Labs Inc. (TSXV: NTLX) (“Neurothera” or the “Company”), a clinical-stage biotech company\nand a majority-owned subsidiary of SciSparc Ltd. (Nasdaq: SPRC)\n(“SciSparc”), today announced that the Israel Patent Office has\ngranted a patent for its proprietary combination of opioids and\nN-acylethanolamines. This patent covers methods and formulations\ndesigned to potentiate the therapeutic effects of opioids while\nsignificantly reducing associated side effects, such as tolerance,\ndependence, and gastrointestinal issues. \n\n\nThis patent grant in Israel joins previously granted\npatents for the same technology in Europe, Japan, Australia, and\nCanada, further strengthening the global intellectual property\nprotection of Neurothera’s proprietary opioid-based platform.\n\n\nThe patented technology leverages N-acylethanolamines,\nsuch as palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), to enhance opioid analgesia\nthrough synergistic mechanisms that amplify pain-relieving efficacy at\nlower doses.\n\n\nThis patent family is based on a pre-clinical study\nconducted to evaluate the nociceptive effect of PEA when combined with\nopiates such as oxycodone, in well-established, regulatory compliance,\npre-clinical models.  \n\n\nIn this study, researchers evaluated the pain relief\npotential of Neurothera’s proprietary drug combination of oxycodone\nand PEA versus standalone oxycodone in numerous concentrations.\n\n\nResults showed that while oxycodone treatment led to\nmarked alteration in animals' behavior and their response to pain\nstimuli, Neurothera' s proprietary combination was found to exert\nbeneficial effects like reduction or even preventing some of oxycodone\ndrugs psychoactive adverse events. However, PEA was also able to\npotentiate therapeutic qualities of oxycodone, by prolonging the time\nthe drug exerted its analgesic effects in all doses of oxycodone.\n \n\n\nAccording to The Business Research\nCompany, oxycodone continues to have\nsignificant sales, with the global market size for oxycodone drugs\nvalued...
