The Tethys system was first installed in M\n arch\n 2020 and already 200 French vineyards have become customers. \n \n \n Two-thirds of the global population - over 4 billion people - live with severe water shortages for at least one month each year. Agriculture, including the wine industry, holds the key to coping with water scarcity as it is responsible for 70% of all freshwater usage.  \n \n \n Mottech provides high-end remote control solutions for water and irrigation applications based on Motorola's IRRInet state-of-the-art control, monitoring and communication technologies. The water management system \n enables\n accurate\n water distribution and\n irrigation\n management, resulting in\n a 30% increase in crop yields while reducing costs by around 30% from efficient use of water,\n fertilizer,\n energy\n and labour\n . The Tethys system is an extension of Mottech's core product, enabling individual vine growers to manage their water needs via an app on their phone.\n \n \n Until recently, irrigation of vineyards in France was forbidden or strictly controlled, \n however,\n climate change has made this unsustainable and led to vineyards in southern France being allowed to be irrigated. \n Irrigation water is supplied by local water associations through a network of pressurized pipelines designed in the 1960s and the farmer then manually connects to the system as required, an outdated process.\n \n \n The Tethys system designed by Mottech for the French wine market automates the process of swit...
