[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\nREGINA, Nov. 5, 2013 /CNW/ - The Global Transportation Hub (GTH) and\n Morguard Investments Limited (Morguard) finalized an agreement in the\n spring of 2013 for Morguard to build and lease world-class facilities\n for the transportation and distribution sector.  Today, an official\n ground breaking ceremony signaled the beginning of the initial\n development - and the beginning of a new era of growth in Saskatchewan.\n\n\nThe Agreement confirmed the purchase of 50 acres of land, another 50\n acres in 2014, with an option for additional land in future years in\n the GTH.  Morguard made the purchase on behalf of its pension fund\n client, Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), and will lead the\n build lease development project.\n\n\nThe official name of the initial development phase is TransLink\n Logistics Centre.  The name reflects the different modes of\n transportation such as road and rail that connect local, national and\n international export and import activities with the region.\n\n\n\"Our collective goal is to transform this greenfield development into a\n world-class multi-tenant industrial premises specifically designed to\n meet LEED Silver standards,\" said Stephen Taylor, President and COO,\n Morguard Investments Limited.  \"We are committed to developing\n sustainable buildings that will enable high volume and efficient\n low-cost operations for new tenants entering the TransLink Logistics\n Centre.\"\n\n\nMorguard has completed the detailed design of four new buildings. \n Construction is now underway by PCL for two of the four buildings\n targeted for completion in May 2014.  Floor plates range from 60,000 SF\n to 82,000 SF with a build to suit option of up to one million SF. \n Morguard has partnered with Avison Young to manage leasing\n opportunities in the new facilities.\n\n\n\"Regina's industrial market has needed this type of initiative for\n years.
