[{"type":"text","content":"\n Morgan Sindall PLC\n05 February 2007\n\n\n\nMorgan Sindall plc\n\nMorgan Est wins £38m Thames Water tunnels project\n\n\n\nMorgan Sindall plc, the construction group, today announces that its\ninfrastructure services provider Morgan Est has been awarded a £38 million\ncontract by Thames Water to design, construct and commission a 4.9km tunnel in\nsouth London.\n\nThe tunnel will extend the Thames Water Ring Main (TWRM) from an existing shaft\nin Brixton to a new pump out shaft at Honor Oak Reservoir. The tunnelled\nextension and provision of a new pump out facility at Honor Oak includes\nassociated mechanical, electrical, instrumental, control and automation (MEICA)\nworks. The facility will provide Thames Water with greater reliability in the\nsupply of water to its customers and allow for the transfer of water from the\nRing Main to Honor Oak Reservoir. Work on site is due to start in March 2007 and\nwill be completed in March 2010.\n\n\n\nPaul Smith, Chief Executive of Morgan Sindall plc, said:\n\n'Tunnelling is one of the core skill sets of Morgan Est and we are pleased that\nour expertise has been recognised through the award of this project.
