[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 5313E Morgan Sindall Group PLC 07 April 2011 \n\n \n7 April 2011\nMorgan Sindall secures C350 Pudding Mill Lane Crossrail contract\nMorgan Sindall Group plc, the construction and regeneration group, today announces that its construction & infrastructure division, Morgan Sindall plc, has been awarded the C350 Pudding Mill Lane contract by Crossrail, worth in the region of £50 million, which will link the new Crossrail main running tunnels to the Network Rail infrastructure in the London Borough of Newham.\nWork will involve the construction of a tunnel portal and a new elevated Docklands Light Railway station at Pudding Mill Lane, adjacent to the southern part of the London 2012 Olympic site. When the new station opens in 2013, the existing Pudding Mill Lane station will be demolished to enable construction of a cut and cover tunnel and covered ramp to connect the planned Crossrail tunnel to the existing Network Rail infrastructure. Associated works will include the construction of bridges, a six span viaduct, new retaining walls and also mechanical and electrical fit out.\nWork is due to start in mid-2011, with the contract set to run for four years, which includes a complete shutdown during the 2012 London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.\nMorgan Sindall plc, as part of the BBMV joint venture in which its holds a approximate 30 per cent share, was recently awarded the Crossrail Whitechapel and Liverpool Street Station Tunnels contract, valued at £235 million.\nPaul Smith, Chief Executive of Morgan Sindall Group plc, said:\n \"We are delighted to have secured our second Crossrail project.
