[{"type":"text","content":"\n Morgan Sindall PLC\n16 August 2007\n\n\nMorgan Sindall plc\n\n16 August 2007\n\n\n Morgan Ashurst JV awarded £134m East Dunbartonshire Schools Project\n\n\nMorgan Sindall plc, the construction and regeneration group, announces today\nthat Morgan Ashurst, its full service construction business, is set to start\nwork on a £134 million, public private partnership (PPP) scheme to design and\nbuild six new secondary schools in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Morgan Ashurst\nwill be working with joint-venture partner, AMEC Building and Facilities\nServices. The contract award is worth £100 million to Morgan Ashurst, and\nfollows financial close of a 30-year PPP led by InspirED, a consortium working\non behalf of East Dunbartonshire Council.\n\nAs the consortium's construction partner, Morgan Ashurst will design and build\nsix state-of-the-art secondary schools in Bearsden, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch\nand Milngavie. The new Morgan Sindall urban regeneration division, Muse\nDevelopments, will develop the schools' surplus sites for mixed-use commercial\nand residential accommodation.\n\n\nPaul Smith, Chief Executive of Morgan Sindall plc, said:\n\n'The award of this significant construction project reinforces Morgan Ashurst's\nleading expertise in building schools for the future. This\nunderlines our very strong position in urban regeneration.'\n\nThe East Dunbartonshire schools PPP scheme is the fourth major education project\nMorgan Ashurst has secured this year.
