A fuller biography is set out below.\n \nThe appointment follows a comprehensive search process led by the Nomination Committee. Following Helen's appointment, the Board will comprise six non-executive directors and two executive directors.\n \nCommenting on the appointment, Andrew Shilston, Chairman, said:\n \n\"I am delighted to welcome Helen Bunch to the Board as a non-executive director. Helen brings significant experience of driving business performance and building businesses in new markets from her roles at ICI and Wates, and will offer the Board a valuable external executive perspective. The family-owned construction services company, employing around 4,000 people, with a turnover of £1bn in 2014, focuses on three key strategic sectors: construction, property services and residential developments. Helen became Managing Director of Wates Retail in January 2011. Under her leadership, Wates Retail merged with Wates Interiors in 2012 and was subsequently renamed Wates Smartspace in 2015 to reflect the diversity of the business.\n \nHelen joined Wates in 2006, as Group Strategy Director, developing and supporting the delivery of the Group's growth and also led the establishment of Wates International in Abu Dhabi.
