To underscore its\n fifth anniversary, Molson Coors and employees committed to give back to\n the community by planting trees in the vicinity of Ryan Street in\n Moncton and by inviting local residents to a special happy hour event\n from 5 pm to 7 pm in select city restaurants and bars.\n\n\nLast Wednesday, beginning at 8 am, twenty or so brewery volunteers\n showed up in the Ryan Street area, gardening tools in hand, ready to\n plant a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees. In 1825, company founder John Molson said to his employees: \"We are all\n members of a larger community which depends on everyone playing a\n part.\" \"These words continue to inspire and guide us today, \" stated Tim Farley, Moncton Brewery Manager. \"This collective tree planting initiative will enable us to stem bank\n erosion and runoff issues currently of concern in this area of the\n city. Action on our behalf today will be added to the long list of\n community initiatives completed over the past five years, including the\n delivery of hot meals to underprivileged senior citizens, our\n partnership with the Food Depot during Hunger Awareness Week, our park\n clean-up operations, and our numerous fundraisers to name only a few.\"\n\n\nTo top off fifth anniversary celebrations, brewery employees paid happy\n hour visits last Thursday to ten or so Molson Coors accounts in the\n Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe areas. As part of their celebratory tour,\n brewery employees offered patrons in the establishments visited one\n free Coors Light or Molson Canadian.
