Mirasol's La Curva Project Returns High-Grade Gold Values and New Disseminated Gold Potential

About this update from Mirasol Resources Ltd

[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nVANCOUVER, Feb. 24 /CNW/ - Mirasol Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: MRZ; Frankfurt:\nM8R) Mirasol is pleased to announce new high-grade gold results at the Loma\nArthur prospect, and the definition of bulk-tonnage, gold targets at the Cerro\nChato prospect located within its wholly-owned La Curva Project, located in\nDeseado Massif of Santa Cruz Province, southern Argentina. Mirasol's\ngeologists identified and staked La Curva in 2006, as part of its regional\ngenerative exploration program.\n\n\nFieldwork completed since May 2008 (see press release of April 11, 2008)\nincludes: induced polarization (IP) and magnetic geophysical surveys, soil\n(lag) sampling, additional prospecting and rock sampling (275 samples in\ntotal).\n\n\nAt the Loma Arthur prospect mineralization has been extended to encompass\nmultiple, northwest-oriented, vein trends exposed in subcrop and float over an\narea of 240 metres by 220 metres. A total of 88 rock samples have been\ncollected at Loma Arthur with values ranging from 0.008 to 66.8 g/t gold\n(grams per metric tonne) with an average value of 5.28 g/t gold (See Figure 1\n- LINK). Silver values for these samples range from (less than)0.5 to 20.2 g/t\nwith a mean of 1.7 g/t. True widths of the veins can not be determined to\ndate, but individual mineralized blocks of quartz reach 0.7 metres in\ndiameter. Petrographic studies show native gold is present as grains to 50\nmicrons in diameter in quartz-adularia veins, with textures indicating\nreplacement of bladed carbonate.\n\n\nLag soil sampling over Loma Arthur shows a gold-tellurium signature to\nthe system and has identified a new gold anomaly 100 metres north of the known\nveins, suggesting mineralization may extend into that area.\n\n\nDetailed ground magnetic, gradient IP surveys at Loma Arthur have defined\na magnetic high partly coincident with distinctive chargeability and\nresistivity IP values immediately to the east of the Loma Arthur gold veins.\nThis 500 metre diameter geophysical feature may represent a covered volcanic\ndome; the subcropping Loma Arthur veins occur on the southwest edge of it. The\nremainder of the covered flanks of the interpreted dome represents an untested\ntarget for additional gold mineralization at Loma Arthur.\n\n\nRock chip sampling with complementary gradient IP and pole-dipole IP\nsurveys have identified an exc...
