(TSX: VGM) ("Virgin\nMetals" or the "Company") announces that following the resignation of\nMr. Tom Griffis and Mr. Chris Berlet from the Board of Directors,\nMr. Bruce Higson-Smith and Mr. Darryl Sittler have been appointed in their\nplace until the next general meeting of the Company.\n\n\nBoth Tom and Chris have resigned due to increasing commitments in other\nareas in which they work. The company wishes to thank Tom and Chris for their\nsubstantial contributions to the Company, Tom in bringing the Cuatro Hermanos\nproperty to the company and Chris for his role as a founding director in the\nearly development of the company in its present form.\n\n\nThe Board of Virgin is now chaired by Mr. Roland Horst who welcomes Bruce\nand Darryl to the Board. Bruce Higson-Smith is a mining engineer with a\nbackground ranging from operations management to investment fund management;\nhe holds an MBA from Baruch College and is currently Vice President, Corporate\nDevelopment at Golden Star Resources Inc.\n\n\nDarryl Sittler is a former National Hockey League player and a 1989\ninductee to the Hockey Hall of Fame. He is an independent businessman and\ncurrently acts as consultant to the Maple Leafs Hockey Club. He is a director\nof Randsburg International Gold Corp., of Wallbridge Mining Company Ltd. and\nof Royal Nickel Corporation.\n\n\nThe Company also announces the engagement of Mr. John Spurney as Vice\nPresident, Exploration. Mr. Spurney has had a distinguished career in\nexploration; he has been closely involved in several major discoveries\nincluding Las Crucitas in Costa Rica. He has worked, among others, for Placer\nDome, Barrick and Bema Gold. Mr. Spurney will assume responsibility for\nVirgin's exploration activities in Mexico.\n\n\nAbout Virgin Metals\n\n\nVirgin Metals is a junior exploration and development company; its\nprojects include two copper-molybdenum porphyry properties in Sonora, northern\nMexico.
