(MBX:TSX) today\nannounced a realignment of responsibilities among its Executive Management\nTeam to accelerate the growth of the Company's core business and the\ncommercialization of its proprietary technologies.\n\n\nWilliam J. Gastle, formerly President and CEO, is now the Chairman and\nCEO. In his new capacity, Bill will focus his time and energy primarily on the\ncommercialization of Microbix' large-market products - specifically its\nVaccine, Oncology, and SST technologies. Bill is the founder of Microbix.\n\n\nPhilip Casselli, who joined Microbix in 2003 as General Manager, has been\nappointed the new President. Phil is a graduate Chemical Engineer and has\nworked in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in Canada and the\nU.S. for 20 years. His primary focus now will be on growing the revenue of the\ncore virology and biopharmaceutical business units so that Microbix is able to\ndirect additional funding to and accelerate development of its large-market\nproduct pipeline.\n\n\nJames Long is the new Chief Financial Officer. Jim has been a member of\nthe Board of Directors of the Company since its inception and has held several\ndirectorial positions, most recently Chairman of the Audit Committee. He is a\ngraduate engineer from the University of Toronto, a Professional Engineer in\nthe province of Ontario, and he holds an MBA (Finance) from the University of\nBritish Columbia. He has also served in senior financial roles in the\nmanagement of several other companies.\n\n\n\"We're tremendously excited about this realignment as it gives us the\nmanagement bench strength we need to grow,\" said Mr. Gastle. \"We're especially\nfortunate because the team members are not only experienced and talented, they\nare also thoroughly familiar with our business.\"\n\n\nMicrobix specializes in developing proprietary biological technologies\nand then commercializing those technologies through global partners.
