(TSX: MBX), a\n biotechnology company commercializing novel technologies for livestock\n semen sexing, and other innovative biologics, today reported it has\n filed new patent applications related to the continuing development of\n LumiSort™, Microbix' proprietary technology that will enable livestock\n breeders to pre-determine the sex of their herd prior to conception.\n These filings represent significant new intellectual property arising\n from the ongoing engineering work to deliver Microbix' proprietary\n LumiSort™ semen sorting technology to the livestock market in 2012.\n\n\nThe new intellectual property protects a significant evolution of the\n LumiSort concept, with improvements that will both simplify and further\n reduce the cost of the construction of LumiSort units, while increasing\n the speed and efficiency of operation.
