EDF appoints METLEN to construct Longfield Solar
Metlen Energy & Metals PLC has secured a significant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from EDF Power Solutions UK for the 400MW Longfield solar farm, one of the UK's largest solar projects. Construction is slated to begin in early 2027 with a target completion in 2030, and the project is expected to power approximately 130,000 households annually while avoiding 60,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This award strengthens Metlen's extensive portfolio of over 95 renewable energy projects in the UK and Ireland, with a total installed solar power exceeding 2.3GW. The solar farm will supply electricity to Transport for London under a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement. Disclaimer*
