[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nNorth American Trial will Determine Effectiveness of Laser Acupuncture\nfor Reducing Addiction to Nicotine, Alcohol and Drugs\n\n\nMISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 22 /CNW/ - MedX Health Corp., (TSXV.MDX) a global\nleader in developing drug free, non-invasive low level laser and light therapy\nfor tissue repair and pain relief, today announced that the company has\nreceived FDA Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval to study the\neffectiveness of laser acupuncture for addiction to nicotine, alcohol and\ndrugs. This study, to be launched in both Canada and the United States, will\nbe an open, multi-center trial treating patients with addictions to assess the\neffectiveness of using the MedX laser probe as a means of controlling the need\nfor these substances.\n\n\nThe most common addictions are to legal substances, including nicotine,\nalcohol and drugs such as prescription painkillers. Each can lead to a number\nof debilitating conditions and even death.\n\n\n"While the use of laser therapy in addiction is not a new concept, it has\nnot been well-documented and it is important that MedX conduct these\nmeaningful studies to confirm the efficacy of our laser and established\ntreatment protocols for these addictions. This would lead to a more\ncost-effective way to treat addiction," states Steve Guillen, president and\nCEO of MedX Health. "This is just the beginning of a number of trials we plan\nto launch in laser acupuncture with our MedX laser probe.
