[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\n\nHALIFAX, April 16, 2013 /CNW/ - MedMira Inc., (MedMira) (TSXV: MIR), a\n developer of rapid diagnostic technology and solutions, announced today\n that it is strengthening the Company's sales and distribution channel\n in the United States by working directly with Cardinal Health and VWR\n International to sell and distribute the Reveal G3 Rapid HIV-1 Antibody\n Test.  Previously, MedMira's agent American Health Partners maintained\n these relationships on behalf of the Company and effective today this\n contract has been concluded.\n\n\n\"Working directly with Cardinal and VWR to support their sales teams and\n their customers is the type of relationship we look for under our\n partnership strategy,\" said Hermes Chan, CEO, MedMira Inc.  \"They have\n been our long term distribution partners and they know our product\n well.  We fully expect to expand our product line with them in the near\n future.\"\n\n\nChan added, \"With this change, we are looking ahead to the launch of our\n next generation rapid HIV test to meet the growing demand based on the\n new U.S. Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) guidelines which\n recommend routine HIV screening for all people aged 15-65 and all\n pregnant women in the United States.  We will follow this up with the\n launch of the new US Army funded rapid tests, Multiplo HBc/HIV/HCV and\n Reveal HBsAg.  Working directly with our key distributors will better\n position us to capitalize on these opportunities with a significantly\n increased profit margin.\"\n\n\nIn advance of these product launches, MedMira will set up a sales and\n marketing office dedicated to supporting the growing business\n opportunities in the US.  In the interim, the Company has engaged a\n third party logistics provider, My Care Solution, to handle the import\n and warehousing of the product.\n\n\nAbout MedMira\n\n\nMedMira is a leading developer and manufacturer of flow-through rapid\n diagnostics.
