MedMira Sharpens Sales and Business Development Focus with Key Hires

[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\nHALIFAX, Sept. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - MedMira Inc., (MedMira) (TSXV: MIR), a\n developer of rapid diagnostic technology and solutions, today announced\n the expansion of its organization with the hiring of key team members\n and new offices in the US and Switzerland as it makes its next move to\n strengthen its sales and business development programs.  Joining\n MedMira are Kevin Jones, Ph.D. as Senior Director, Global Sales &\n Marketing and Markus Meile in the role of Senior Director,\n International Markets.\n\n\nDr. Jones brings over 20 years of significant industry experience to\n MedMira and has demonstrated successes in sales and marketing in\n medical, diagnostics, and life sciences sectors as well as product\n research, development and launch; building technology support\n apparatus; and business strategy. Most recently he worked with Avery\n Dennison Medical Solutions as Global Segment Market Manager.  Prior to\n that he worked with EDP Biotech, Whatman Inc., and British BioCell\n InternationaI in various international roles.  At MedMira, Dr. Jones\n will lead global sales and marketing programs, initially targeting the\n United States market with a focus on the launch of new products in the\n Reveal and Multiplo ranges as well as expanding Miriad, a research and\n development tool, into new market areas.\n\n\n\"MedMira, with its patented rapid flow-through technology that delivers\n almost instant results, is now ready to move boldly into new markets,\"\n said Dr. Jones shortly after his appointment. \"The capital investment\n that was recently put in place, along with the new Reveal and Multiplo\n products that will be launched in the US and internationally beginning\n in 2014, will enable MedMira to grow significantly over the next two\n years.\"\n\n\nTo achieve its commercial targets MedMira has expanded its operations to\n include new offices in the United States, Switzerland, as well as a\n realigned sales and marketing team at the Company's corporate\n headquarters in Halifax, NS.
