[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nHALIFAX, April 21 /CNW/ - MedMira Inc., ("MedMira") (TSX Venture: MIR,\nNASDAQ: MMIRF), a developer and marketer of rapid diagnostic technology and\nsolutions, and US-based sales and marketing partner American Health\nDiagnostics LLC (AHD), announced today that their South East Asia market\nexpansion initiatives have resulted in product sales in Indonesia. As\nannounced in August 2008, MedMira and AHD are working together to break in to\nthis developing market and sell at least one million rapid HIV tests in the\nSouth East Asia region over the next year.\n\n\nLocal distributors Lauw Management USA and PT Sehat Selaras Sejahtera,\nalong with MedMira and AHD pursued and received regulatory approval in\nIndonesia for MedMira's MiraWell Rapid HIV Test (MiraWell HIV). In addition to\nregulatory approval, the sales and marketing registrations required to sell\nthe product in this market has also been completed.\n\n\n"We have converted our Southeast Asia market expansion into concrete\nsales opportunities in Indonesia. Working with our partners, AHD, Lauw\nManagement USA, and PT Sehat Selaras Sejahtera, we were able to move through\nthe evaluation and regulatory process smoothly in order to realize our first\nsales in the region," said Hermes Chan, president and CEO, MedMira Inc.
