LOUIS and CHESTERFIELD, Missouri, May 28, 2019 /CNW/ - St. Luke's Hospital, Medical Facilities Corporation (MFC) (TSX: DR) and NueHealth LLC today announced plans to develop a new ambulatory surgery center (ASC) on the west campus of St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield. The new center will be located on the top floor of the Mr. and Mrs. Theodore P. Desloge, Jr. Outpatient Center, Building B at 111 St. Luke's Center Drive.\n\n \n \n\n \nThe ASC, to be named St. Luke's Surgery Center of Chesterfield, will initially offer five specialties, including orthopedics, gynecology, gastrointestinal (GI), plastic surgery and general surgery. The surgery center will feature extended care rooms to accommodate outpatient surgeries such as total joint replacement of the knee and hip. \nThirteen local physicians have joined the development as owner/partners. Both the number of partner physicians and the specialties will likely increase before or after the new facility opens.\n\"The shift of select surgeries to lower cost outpatient facilities, which provide a convenient experience for patients, is not just a trend but a valuable change in healthcare,\" said Christine M.
