[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nCALGARY, Aug. 6 /CNW/ - Petrolifera Petroleum Limited (PDP - TSX) is\npleased to report our second quarter 2009 ("Q2 2009") and first half 2009 ("1H\n2009") operating and financial results to its shareholders, together with\ncomparative information from 2008.\n\n\nPetrolifera's focus during the second quarter and first half of 2009 was\non the drilling and testing of the La Pinta well in Colombia, the possible\nsale of its Argentinean operations and continuing efforts to attract industry\npartners for certain of its high potential properties in Peru and Colombia.\nProduction in Argentina was down, reflecting limited investment undertaken\nduring the sale process period. New heavier oil accumulations were discovered\non the company's Gobernador Ayala II block in Argentina.\n\n\nSubsequent to the reporting period, the sale process in Argentina was\nterminated as there were no acceptable bids, despite a high level of interest\nin the company's operations. The La Pinta well, located on Petrolifera's 100\nperecent owned Sierra Nevada License in the Lower Magdelena Basin onshore\nnothern Colombia, was suspended after testing light crude oil and experiencing\na suspected casing split and it is anticipated it will be reentered at a later\ndate to remediate the well, further evaluate the oil-productive zone and to\ntest uphole zones. Discussions continue on the possible farm-out of both\nBlocks 107 and 133 in the Ucayali Basin, Peru and an agreement has been\nreached in principle on the the Turpial Block in Colombia.\n\n\nThese results will be subject to a Conference Call event at 9:00 a.m. MT\nAugust 7, 2009.
