Earnings per share were $0.49 compared to $0.29 during the same\n quarter in the prior year. Estimated taxable income increased to $4.3\n million from $4.1 million during the same quarter in the prior year,\n and on a per share basis increased to $0.30 from $0.29 in the prior\n year.\n\n\nThe consolidated financial statements for the quarter ended March 31,\n 2011 are the first that we have prepared in accordance with\n International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS"). For periods up to\n and including the year ended December 31, 2010, we prepared our\n consolidated financial statements in accordance with Canadian Generally\n Accepted Accounting Principles ("CGAAP").\n\n\nThe most significant changes to our financial statements are as follows:\n\n\n\nWe have recognized $3.1 billion of new assets and $3.1 billion of new\n liabilities, primarily due to the on-balance sheet treatment of\n mortgages securitized through the Canada Mortgage Bonds ("CMB")\n program.\n\n\n\n\nWe now recognize ongoing CMB program mortgage interest income, principal\n reinvestment income and securitization liability interest ...
