ShawCor confirms appointment of President and CEO

TORONTO, June 30 /CNW/ - ShawCor Ltd. (TSX: SCL.SV.A, SCL.MV.B) today
confirmed the executive changes announced on March 31, 2005, whereby
Mr. William P. Buckley becomes President and Chief Executive Officer of the
Corporation effective June 30, 2005. Mr. Buckley was previously Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer. He will succeed Mr. Geoffrey F. Hyland
who is retiring after 37 years and who will continue his association with the
company in an advisory capacity and as a member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Buckley joined the company in 1994 and has made significant
contributions to the company's growth and prosperity. Most recently
Mr. Buckley was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the
Corporation. Mr. Buckley holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Toronto and an MBA from York University and has completed the
AMP program at the Harvard Business School.
