ShawCor Announces Contract To Provide Pipe Coating Services For The Enbridge Alberta Clipper Pipeline

(TSX: SCL.A, SCL.B) today announced\nits subsidiary, Shaw Pipe Protection Ltd., has received a contract with a\nvalue in excess of $50 million to provide coatings for the Enbridge Alberta\nClipper project. Coating will commence in the third quarter of 2008 at the\ncompany's Regina pipe coating facility.\n\n\nEnbridge's Alberta Clipper project will consist of approximately 1,600 km\nof 36" pipe and will be coated with fusion bonded epoxy anti-corrosion coating\nand a dual layer fusion bonded epoxy coating for sections of the pipeline\nrequiring additional protection during construction. Shaw Pipe Protection will\nalso provide Enbridge with rail car loading services for the coated pipe. This\nproject is a crude oil pipeline that will extend from Hardisty, Alberta to\nSuperior, Wisconsin and is expected to be in service by mid-2010.\n\n\nShawCor Ltd. is an energy services company specializing in products and\nservices for the pipeline and pipe services and the petrochemical and\nindustrial segments of the oil and gas industry.
