[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 9300T Marshalls PLC 16 June 2009 \n \nNOT FOR RELEASE, PUBLICATION OR DISTRIBUTION, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, IN OR INTO THE UNITED STATES, AUSTRALIA, CANADA, JAPAN, SOUTH AFRICA, MALTA, NEW ZEALAND OR ANY OTHER JURISDICTION IN WHICH THE SAME WOULD BE UNLAWFUL.\n\nMarshalls plc\n\n16 June 2009\n\nResult of Rights Issue\n\nMarshalls plc ('Marshalls' or 'the Company') announces that it has received valid acceptances in respect of 50,885,764 New Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 90.4% of the total number of New Ordinary Shares offered to Qualifying Shareholders, pursuant to the Rights Issue announced by the Company on 13 May 2009. \n \nIt is expected that the New Ordinary Shares in uncertificated form will be credited to CREST accounts on 16 June 2009 and that definitive share certificates in respect of New Ordinary Shares in certificated form will be dispatched to Shareholders by no later than 23 June 2009. It is expected that the New Ordinary Shares will commence trading fully paid on London Stock Exchange plc's main market for listed securities on 16 June 2009. \n \nAs disclosed in Part III of the prospectus sent to shareholders dated 13 May 2009 ('Prospectus'), Citi and Numis will endeavour to procure subscribers for the balance of 5,386,737 New Ordinary Shares not validly taken up under the Rights Issue, on and subject to the terms and conditions agreed with the Company under the Underwriting Agreement.
