(TSX-V-MPE) (the\n"Company" or "Maple Leaf") would like to comment on a reference made about it\nin a news release dated January 29, 2009, which detailed the halting of an\nOver-The-Counter Bulletin Board listed company in the U.S. named Future Canada\nChina Environment ("FCCE"). The Company was referred to in the news release\nbecause the directors and management of FCCE were formerly loosely associated\nwith Maple Leaf.\n\n\nThe President and Chief Executive Officer of FCCE, Ms. Jessica Chiang,\nand FCCE's Vice President, Mr. Kin Kwong, were part-time consultants with\nMaple Leaf for a brief period of time. FCCE's other Vice President, Mr. Paul\nYoung, was never directly associated with Maple Leaf, however he was the\npersonal assistant of Mr. Michael Hu, who was a Director and the Chairman of\nthe Board of Maple Leaf from July 1, 2007 to January, 2008. Ms. Chiang and Mr.\nKwong both became involved with Maple Leaf through their association with Mr.\nHu, and both individuals ceased to be involved with Maple Leaf upon Mr. Hu's\ndeparture from the Company in early 2008. Ms. Chiang, Mr. Kwong and Mr. Young\nwere never involved with the Board of Directors of Maple Leaf, nor did they\never have any decision-making authority with respect to the Company and its\noperations.\n\n\nMr. Raymond Lai, President & CEO of Maple Leaf commented: "We are\nextremely disappointed that Maple Leaf's name has been mentioned within such a\nnegative news release and with respect to personnel of a company with which we\nhave minimal past association and no present association.
