[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nCALGARY, May 2 /CNW/ - Shell Canada (Shell) is pleased to announce it is\nthe first Canada-wide fuel producer and marketer to meet \"TOP TIER Detergent\nGasoline\" standards established by four of the world's top automakers: GM,\nBMW, Honda and Toyota.\n\"These four auto manufacturers understand how quality gasoline affects\nvehicle performance and have collectively raised the bar for fuels in Canada\nwith TOP TIER,\" said Eymbert Vaandering, Vice-President, Retail, Shell Canada\nProducts. \"We're constantly in pursuit of the cleanest, most efficient fuels\npossible and our newly acquired TOP TIER designation is proof positive that\nwe're on the right track,\" said Vaandering.\nAchieving TOP TIER status means detergency levels in each grade of Shell\nCanada's gasoline (Bronze, Silver and premium V-Power(TM)) are higher than\nwhat is set by the Canadian General Standards Board. \"TOP TIER Detergent\nGasoline\" helps keep engines cleaner than using gasolines with lower levels of\ndeposit control additives. Clean engines help provide optimal fuel economy and\nperformance.\nA team from Shell Canada and its international affiliates tested and\ndeveloped Shell gasolines in Canada to ensure they met \"TOP TIER Detergent\nGasoline\" standards. Test results exceeded TOP TIER requirements, enabling the\ncompany to receive its designation.\n\"On behalf of the GM Canada team, we congratulate Shell Canada on being\nthe first national fuel company to attain the TOP TIER fuel standard,\" said\nMichael A.
