[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nTORONTO, Sept. 12 /CNW/ - Magellan Aerospace is pleased to announce that\nit has been selected by Messier-Dowty to provide various assemblies for the\nnose and main landing gear of the new B787 aircraft. Magellan will have\nresponsibility under the contract to develop and manufacture the nose landing\ngear drag brace assembly and steering assembly, and the nose and main landing\ngear torsion link assemblies. Magellan currently manufactures landing gear\ncomponents and assemblies for a number of civil and military aircraft.\nThe award, valued at $(US) 90 million over the initial contract period,\nfollows a joint design and engineering phase to achieve optimum performance\nand cost solutions. The Magellan team worked side-by-side with Messier-Dowty\nand Boeing to support design-for-manufacture and cost reduction activities\nover the past five months.\n\"At Magellan, we are delighted to have been selected by Messier-Dowty for\nkey activity on Boeing's aircraft of the future, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner,\"\nsaid Jim Butyniec, executive vice president and COO of Magellan Aerospace. \"We\nhave great respect for Messier-Dowty, and have enjoyed the professionalism\nshown in the preceding phases of this program.
