Magellan is known globally\nas a manufacturer of large, complex aeroengine components and aerostructure\nassemblies. It also designs and manufactures a line of successful\nMagellan-owned aerospace products that include small satellite platforms, and\na family of solid propellant rocket motors that are manufactured in Canada's\nonly privately owned, state-of-the-art propellant plant.\n\n\n"Magellan's proprietary products were developed to fill niches in the\nindustry and have subsequently been grown into successful,\ninternationally-adopted products," commented Jim Butyniec, President and COO,\nMagellan Aerospace Corporation. The majority of such orders are for\nsolid-propellant rocket motors and small satellite platforms.\n\n\nThe global demand for Magellan's family of solid propellant sounding and\ndefence rocket motors further contributes to the Corporation's\nengineered-product order book. Magellan Aerospace has been developing and\nmanufacturing rockets since the 1960's, establishing Canada as a leader in\nsolid rocket motor technology. The Black Brant sounding rocket is the most\nreliable and cost effective vehicle available to carry scientific experiments\nto the fringes of space. Orders in 2007 have included a number of modern\nrocket motor products that have been developed by Magellan for use as drone\nbooster motors, air-to-ground rockets, test firing support, various aerial\ntargets, and meteorological data gathering.\n\n\nMagellan's MAC-200 small satellite bus (platform) was designed by\nMagellan to fill the Canadian Space Agency's (CSA) requirement for a generic\nbus to support a variety of missions and a wide range of payloads to meet the\nneeds of the scientific community, industry, and the Government of Canada.\nOver the next ten years, the Canadian Space Agency plans to use Magellan's bus\nto carry valuable science and research payloads into space. Magellan is\ncurrently working on the CASSIOPE bus, the first application of the MAC-200,\nwhich is scheduled for launch in 2008.\n\n\nMagellan Aerospace Corporation is one of the world's most integrated and\ncomprehensive aerospace industry suppliers...
