Net income from operations for the first quarter 2011\n was $9,827,000, 14¢ per common share ($11,446,000, 16¢ per common share\n in 2010), a decrease of 12.5% per common share.\n\n\nWe ended up the first quarter of 2011 with lower sales and profits\n compared to the first quarter of 2010. The decrease in sales was due to\n both a reduction in the number of sales transactions but also a lower\n average sale than the prior year. We face a difficult economy,\n decreasing new housing starts and record consumer debt. We continue to\n look for innovations in order to help improve sales. At the same time,\n we are pleased with the efforts of our associates to improve\n productivity and control expenses.\n\n\nWe believe that we must become even more aggressive in the marketplace\n during 2011 in order to improve the performance of our Company going\n forward. Improved sales and productivity will be aided by the opening\n of four additional stores this year. We have begun construction on a\n new 84,000 sq. ft. facility in Regina, Saskatchewan with a scheduled\n grand opening for the fall of 2011.
