[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 6527P Land Securities Group Plc 21 July 2010 \n \n\n21 July 2010\n \nLand Securities Group PLC (\"Land Securities\")\nSIMON PALLEY JOINS BOARD AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR\nLand Securities has today announced that Simon Palley (52) will join the Board as a non-executive director on I August 2010.\n \nSimon has had a successful and broad ranging career in investment banking, consulting and private equity, rising to be Managing Partner at BC Partners, one of the leading private equity firms in Europe.\n \nA MBA graduate of Wharton School, Pennsylvania he currently holds non-executive roles in two private businesses, Haymarket Financial (a specialist UK Corporate lending institution) and Regency Entertainment (a Greek casino operator). He is also a Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania.\n \nHe started his career at Chase Manhattan before moving to Bain & Company. He left there in 1988 to join the Bankers Trust where he was a Vice President and then in 1990 joined BC Partners, a private equity firm where he stayed for 17 years rising to Managing Partner.\n \nCommenting on the appointment, Land Securities Chairman, Alison Carnwath said:\n\"Simon has an outstanding track record in business across a broad range of industry sectors. He has a commercial mindset honed after 20 years of investing in businesses and playing an active role in making those investments successful.\n \n\"He will add further strength to the experienced and strong team of non-executive directors we already have.
