[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 3955P Lancashire Holdings Limited 18 February 2016  \n\nLANCASHIRE HOLDINGS LIMITED\n \n18 February 2016 \nLondon, UK\n \nLancashire Holdings Limited (\"Lancashire\") - Lancashire Board Chairman Succession Planning \n \nLancashire has today announced that Martin Thomas, who has served as a director on the Lancashire board for over 9 years and as Chairman since 2007, will step down from both roles following this year's annual general meeting (\"AGM\") on 4 May 2016, in accordance with good governance practice. \n \nThe Lancashire board has decided to appoint current director Peter Clarke as his successor following the AGM.  Peter Clarke joined the Lancashire board as an independent non-executive director in June 2014, having previously been the Chief Executive of the Man Group plc.  \n \nMartin Thomas said:\n \n\"I joined the Lancashire board in 2006, shortly after Lancashire's foundation, and assumed the Chairmanship in 2007.  It has been a privilege and a pleasure to have led the board of one of the most successful insurance companies of the \"class of 2005\", and one of the most successful financial services companies across the financial crisis.   I am proud to have helped build and to have worked with a board, management team and business which demonstrate the real commercial benefits of a broad diversity.  The Lancashire board has led by example on this count and with three women among our eight directors, Lancashire is within the top ten FTSE 250 boards in terms of its gender diversity.   After nine years, it is the right time for a change, both for the business and for me.
