The appointment is to\nbe effective from 9 June 2014.\n\nPeter Clarke was Group Chief Executive of Man Group plc, a leading provider of\nalternative investment products and solutions, between April 2007 and February\n2013, having joined in 1993. He was appointed to the board in 1997 and served\nin a variety of roles, including Head of Corporate Finance and Corporate\nAffairs and Group Company Secretary before becoming the Group Finance Director\nin 2000. During this period he was responsible for investing in and developing\none of the leading providers of third party capital insurance and reinsurance\nproducts. He is a qualified solicitor, having practised at Slaughter and May,\nand has experience in the investment banking industry, working at Morgan\nGrenfell and Citibank.\n\nMartin Thomas, Lancashire's Chairman, said:\n\n\"We are delighted to welcome Peter to Lancashire as a Non-Executive Director.\nPeter further strengthens the Lancashire board with his broad portfolio of\npractical leadership skills and experience combined with his intellectual and\nstrategic talents.
