[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nCALGARY, July 31 /CNW/ - Solana Resources Limited (TSX-V: SOR; AIM:\nSORL), the Colombia focused independent oil and gas exploration and production\ncompany, is pleased to announce the appointments of Keith Jackson as\nNon-Executive Director and Ricardo Montes Gomez as acting Chief Financial\nOfficer.\nBased in the UK, Francis Keith John Jackson, aged 57, is an experienced\nfinance executive with significant Board level experience. From 1999 to 2005\nhe was a Divisional Finance Director for Anglo American plc, responsible for\nthe financial and compliance reporting of Anglo Industrial Minerals,\ncomprising the Tarmac Group and Copebras, a Brazilian fertiliser company.\nPrior to joining Anglo American, Mr. Jackson worked for Cape plc and Charter\nplc, as Finance Director and Group Controller respectively. He is currently a\nNon-Executive Director of Chamberlin & Hill plc, a FTSE listed foundry and\nengineering group, and Chairman of Tynda Forest Holdings Ltd, a privately held\ntimber company with assets in Russia and China.\nRicardo Montes Gomez has been appointed as acting Chief Financial\nOfficer, subject to final Board approval. Ricardo Montes Gomez has extensive\nsector and regional experience having worked in executive financial and\ncommercial roles for Shell in Colombia, Venezuela and most recently with Shell\nExploration and Production Co. in Houston. He has also managed auditing and\nconsulting services for oil and gas companies in the South American region for\nErnst & Young and Arthur Andersen.\nRicardo Montes Gomez will be based with the CEO in Bogota (Colombia), and\nwill divide his time between Bogota and the corporate headquarters in Calgary.\nHe replaces Scott Hamilton who has left Solana to pursue other challenges.\nStephen Newton, Solana's President and CEO, commented:\n\"We are very pleased to welcome Keith to the Solana Board.
