VANCOUVER, Oct. 26, 2011 /CNW/ - Tumi Resources Limited (the "Company") (TSXV-TM; Pinksheets - TUMIF; Frankfurt - TUY).  Mr. David Henstridge, President, announces that the results of detailed channel sampling at La Gloria project have been received.  The results have revealed widespread gold-tungsten-tin mineralization associated with La Gloria skarn that produced a small amount of tungsten mineralization by crude mining and concentrating methods in 1956. La Gloria is located about 250 km by road east of Hermosillo, Sonora and is held within two contiguous mineral claims totalling 200 hectares optioned from a private Mexican owner.

As previously reported by the Company, at the main workings, near the north end of the documented skarn body, a contiguous set of 16 channel samples (32 m), taken perpendicular to the trend of the zone, averaged 3.3 g/t gold, 958 ppm  tungsten and 498 ppm  tin. This sequence of samples is located on grid line 100. Mapping has revealed that the main zone has an apparent strike length of about 600 m NE-SW and a lateral, horizontal exposure of up to 300 m NW-SE. How much of this is contiguous stratigraphy is not known; much of this lateral exposure is along the dip slope, and a true thickness has not yet been established.

A total of 120 channel samples ranging in length from 0.45 m to 3 m and 2 chip samples have been taken from the main mineralized zone over a strike length of 550 m.  Results are listed under Main Zone in Table 1. The length of the lines sampled ranged from 44 m to 155 m; however, sections of the lines could not be sampled due to overburden. Two of the better results were 9.8 m averaging 1.41 g/t gold, 739 ppm tungsten and 883 ppm tin on line 50 and 12.5 m averaging 0.65 g/t gold, 847 ppm tungsten and 808 ppm tin on line 150.

As well as the grid sampling program, Company personnel have taken a further 88 channel samples from outside of the main mineralized zone to test for extensions of the mineralization on the property. Results are listed under Regional Samples on Table 1. Most were taken within 300 m of the main zone to test for mineralization dominantly located down -slope from the main zone.  Results were very encouraging and included several high gold results (a high of 21.6 g/t gold over 4 m)  located near line 00 on the main grid and also 8.75 m averaging 0.84 g/t gold, 871 ppm tungsten and 1181 ppm tin.

Of great interest was the discovery of copper mineralization which included 1.97% over 16.7 m along a road-cut and 2.79% over 8.2 m in outcrop.

Up to four phases of skarn have been identified on the property - two are oxide/(sulphide) dominant, the other two are calc-silicate dominant.

Mr. Henstridge stated: "The results of the channel sampling program are very promising, identifying widespread gold, tin and tungsten and, in places, high grade copper mineralization all within skarn. The Company intends to make further bulldozer cuts through the copper zones to better understand the mineral distribution and is negotiating for a diamond drill contract.  It is hoped that an initial drill program will commence late next month".

The qualified person for Tumi's projects, David Henstridge, a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, has visited La Gloria gold-tungsten-tin project, Sonora, Mexico, and has verified the contents of this news release.

On behalf of the Board,
