[{"type":"text","content":"\n Kefi Minerals plc\n15 March 2007\n\nAIM: KEFI 15 March 2007\n\n KEFI Minerals Plc\n ('KEFI Minerals' or the 'Company'),\n\n GRANT OF EXPLORATION LICENCES\n\nFollowing the announcement made by the Company on 1 February 2007, KEFI\nannounces that, during February 2007, following completion of legal formalities,\nit was granted two new exploration licences by the Ministry of Natural Resources\nin Turkey. The licence areas are known as the Derenin Tepe and the Karalar\nLicences.\n\nThe Company is also pleased to announce encouraging assay results from initial\nexploration programmes on those licence areas.\n\nHighlights:\n\n • Rock chip sampling reveals up to 152g/t gold and 229g/t silver in the\n area of ancient workings and channel sampling assay results of 8 metres at\n 3g/t gold and 152g/t silver at Derenin Tepe;\n • Highly anomalous gold stream sediment sample results of up to 380ppb\n gold at Karalar;\n • Targeting large epithermal gold or porphyry gold-copper systems\n analogous to several +1 million ounce deposits in the region; and\n • Exploration office established in Turkey and commencement of field\n activities in the recently granted licences.\n\nDerenin Tepe\n\nThe Derenin Tepe Licence area is located in the highly prospective Balekisir\nProvince in Western Anatolia, Turkey. This licence covers an area of 12km2 and\nhosts a series of parallel quartz veins that trend northwest and extend for at\nleast one kilometre. The main vein exhibits classic low-sulphidation epithermal\nfeatures and attains a maximum true width of 8 metres. This vein has\nhistorically been mined by small-scale, shallow, open-pit methods.\n\nPreliminary rock chip sampling returned encouraging assay results of up to \n152g/t gold and 229g/t silver in the area of the ancient workings. Channel \nsampling retuned assays of 8 metres at 3g/t gold and 152g/t silver.\n\nKaralar\n\nThe Karalar Licence covers an area of 10km2 and is located in the Central\nAnatolia Province, Turkey. The licence is close to historic copper, lead and\nzinc mines and has returned up to 380ppb gold in stream sediment samples.\n\nKEFI is targeting large epithermal gold or porphyry gold-copper systems\nanalogous to several +1 million ounce deposits recently discovered and developed\nin the Western Anatolia Region.\n\nSince being admitted to AIM on 18 December 2006, KEFI ...
