[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n 8 December 2008\n\n Karelian Diamond Resources plc \n\n (AIM: KDR) \n\n AGM statement and results of annual general meeting \n\n CHAIRMAN REPORTS ON A MEMORABLE YEAR \n\n FOR DIAMOND EXPLORER \n\n * Seitaperä Kimberlite Pipe Conclusively Proved To Be Diamondiferous\n \n * First Results From Analysis Of Latest Drill Core Samples Expected Early In\n New Year\n \nAt the Annual General Meeting today of Karelian Diamond Resources plc, the AIM\nlisted diamond exploration company focussed on Finland, Chairman Professor\nRichard Conroy said that 2007-08 had been a memorable year for the Company,\nfollowing the end of which it conclusively proved that its Seitaperä kimberlite\npipe in the Kuhmo region is diamondiferous.\n\nAnalysis of a 100kg composite sample of drill core from the pipe recovered 61\nmicro- and 6 macro-diamonds.\n\n\"The Seitaperä diamond count is high and compares well with many recent\nkimberlite discoveries elsewhere. This is all the more encouraging given the\nproject's favourable location, in terms of access and infrastructure, and its\nsignificant surface area.\n\n\"Our most recent drilling has identified a north-extension to the pipe with a\nsurface area of about 1 hectare, again confirming the substantial surface area\nof this major kimberlite body\"\n\nThis drilling also recovered a large amount of core from the central section of\nthe main pipe which is now being logged.
