Jubilee Platinum Granted First Prospecting Permits in South Africa
Jubilee Platinum plc ('Jubilee' or 'the Company'), the AIM quoted mining group,
has received prospecting permits for its Houtenbek, Onverwacht and Mapochsgronde
platinum group metal (PGM) properties in the Eastern Limb of the PGM bearing
Bushveld Complex in South Africa.
These permits were granted to Jubilee by the Department of Minerals and Energy
of South Africa under the Minerals Act 1991: Section 6 (1), giving the Company
the right to carry out prospecting activities, such as drilling, digging of
trenches and pits, sinking of exploration shafts, rock and soil sampling.
Jubilee intends to carry out a combination of geochemical soil sampling and
geophysics, involving ground and or airborne magnetic surveys, as appropriate,
to establish targets for eventual drilling.
Colin Bird, CEO of Jubilee, said 'The receipt of our first prospecting permit in
the Bushveld marks a key milestone for the Company as it will enable us to take
our projects to the next phase. We also await the imminent release of the
permits relevant to our other PGM exploration areas in the Bushveld Complex.'
