[{"type":"text","content":"\n John David Sports PLC\n7 November 2001\n\n\n\n\n7 November 2001\n\n\n\nJohn David Sports Plc - Board changes\n\n\nJohn David Sports Plc ('JD Sports'), the UK's leading specialist retailer of\nfashionable branded sports and leisure wear, announces the following Board\nchanges.\n\n\nFurther to the announcement made at the AGM on 5 September 2001, the Board of\nJD Sports is pleased to announce that Colin Archer (59) joined the Board on 6\nNovember 2001 as a non-executive director. Colin spent the majority of his\ncareer with Barclays Bank Plc, rising to the position of Assistant Corporate\nDirector, and will provide a wealth of financial advisory experience to the\nBoard. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and has over\nforty years' experience in the banking and financial arenas.\n\n\n\nThere are no further details requiring disclosure in respect of paragraph 16.4\nof the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority in relation to Colin Archer.\n\n\n\nThe Board announced at the AGM that our non-executive directors, Michael Adams\nand Alan White, would retire from the Board in the near future. Their\nretirement is now effective from 6 November 2001 and the Board thanks them\nboth for their contribution and support during their tenure and wish them well\nfor the future.\n\n\n\nAlso as announced, Roger Best (49) will be joining the Board in January 2002\nas a non-executive director. Roger currently holds the position of Senior\nVice President of Europe, Africa and the Middle East with Reebok\nInternational.
