APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The John David Group Plc ('the Group'), a leading specialist retailer of
fashionable branded sports and leisure wear, is delighted to announce the
appointment of Frank Martin to the Board as a Non-Executive director. The
effective date of appointment is 12th June 2003.
Frank Martin is Chief Executive of Hornby PLC, the models and collectibles
group, a position he has held since January 2001. He has extensive experience
in marketing to the youth sector, both in his current position, and also through
his previous appointments as Managing Director of Humbrol Ltd, the manufacturer
of model paint, and as Marketing Director of Hasbro (UK) Ltd, the toys, games
and puzzles manufacturer. He was also previously Managing Director of Denby
Pottery Ltd.
In recent years, he has helped to transform the fortunes of Hornby PLC, which
resulted in the company receiving the Financial Times Company of the Year Award
in 2003.

formidable track record of reinvigorating company strategy and will bring
further marketing and senior management experience to the Board. His energy,
