[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 4581J Fisher (James) & Sons plc 17 July 2013  \n \n\n \nEmbargoed for release\n7am on 17 July 2013\n \nJames Fisher & Sons Plc (FSJ.L)\nRedefinition of business segments\n \nFollowing the acquisition of Divex Limited (\"Divex\") on 5 March 2013, James Fisher & Sons plc (\"JFS\") today announces a revised definition of its reported operating segments, which better reflects the nature of the Group's businesses and, in accordance with IFRS 8, is consistent with the way in which management views and manages the businesses.\n \nThe Group previously reported four operating segments:\n-      Specialist Technical\n-      Offshore Oil\n-      Defence\n-      Marine Oil\n \nJFS will report its interim results to be announced in August 2013 and thereafter under the revised operating segments, with the following changes:\n \n·      The fendering, mooring and strain business will be transferred out of the Specialist Technical segment into a new Marine Support segment.  \n·      Offshore Oil remains unchanged. \n·      The Defence segment is to be combined with Divex and our nuclear activities within Specialist Technical.  \n·      The Marine Oil segment will be renamed 'Tankships'.  \n \nThe revised operating segments will therefore be reported as follows:\n \n\n\n\n\nBusiness segment\n\n\n\n\n\nBusiness activities\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMarine Support\n \n\n\n\n\n\nFendering, mooring and strain gauge applications\n\n\n\n\nSpecialist Technical\n\n\n\n\n\nSubsea services including submarine rescue and saturation diving; nuclear decommissioning and testing\n\n\n\n\nOffshore Oil\n\n\n\n\n\nServices and equipment supplied globally to offshore applications\n\n\n\n\nTankships\n \n\n\n\n\n\nCoastal delivery of clean petroleum products\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nJames Fisher and Sons plc\n \n\n\nStuart Kilpatrick\n\n\nGroup Finance Director\n\n\n01229 615 503\n\n\n\n\nFTI Consulting\n\n\nRichard Mountain\nSophie McMillan\n\n\n\n\n\n020 7269 7291\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nSegments as previously reported\n\n\n\n...
