IQE (AIM:IQE) will present its unique RF Filter Materials Portfolio at CS-ManTech in Minneapolis, MN, USA during April 30th to May 3rd, 2019. \nIQE's technology is applicable to both high performance SAW and BAW filters, key components for mobile handsets that underpin 5G technology. \nThe move to 5G, requires higher frequency and higher performance creating significant challenges for current generation handset components, particularly RF filters which account for more than half of the value of front-end modules in handsets, an amount that is forecast to steadily increase with the onset of 5G connected devices according to industry analysts Yole Developpment (June 2018).\nIQE's RF Filter Materials Portfolio employs novel epitaxial materials to overcome performance limitations inherent to higher frequency operation. For example, IQE's patented Epitaxial Metal exhibits a significantly lower resistivity for thin layers compared with incumbent technologies. As such, IQE's unique portfolio overcomes a significant performance limitation for BAW filters which must be thinned to operate at higher frequencies. \nEpitaxial Metal is just one of the many RF Filter Materials Solutions enabled by the IQE portfolio which combines multiple technology platforms which also includes Porous Silicon, cREO™, Epitaxial Metal, and Epitaxial ScAlN, and Nanoimprint Lithography.\n IQE is working with multiple, Tier-1 filter chip providers to refine in its technology to meet their specific design requirements. IQE's CS-ManTech presentation will include prototype device data that demonstrates the potential of IQE's RF Filter technology. \nDr Rodney Pelzel, VP Global Technology for IQE commented: \n\"I am pleased to announce that IQE's development of advanced materials for RF filter applications has progressed well and is on target. IQE's RF Filter Materials Portfolio uniquely combines multiple IQE Technology Platforms to address the challenges faced by the RF filter community. \n\"The active engagements that we have with numerous Tier 1 partners is a testament to the power of the IQE's offering. \n\"The RF Filter Mater...
